I love Bill Bryson

from a request in

"According to the latest 'Statistical Abstract of the United States', every year more than 400,000 Americans suffer injuries involving beds, mattresses or pillows. Think about that for a minute. That is more people than live in greater Coventry. That is almost 2,000 bed, mattress and pillow accidents every day. In the time it takes you to read this article, four Americans will somehow manage to be wounded by their bedding." - Bill Bryson, 'Notes From A Big Country'
I just love this kind of information/knowledge. I only read one book by him so far ("A Short History of Nearly Everything") and I love it very much. I'm gonna look for more of his works. I'm such a dork about science facts. Why, just last night, my brothers and I were browsing the NG website (while simultaneously watching episodes of the Annoying Orange) and we were "ooh"- and "aah"-ing. Though if you give me a Science textbook I would go ಠ_ಠ but I'd read an encyclopedia any day.
Too bad I threw away all those copies of New Scientist magazines already.
