Oh, I'm sorry then X( because I thought by self-insertion, you meant exactly that: inserting him/herself in the story as a non-country OC. There are fics like that (sadly). Well, it depends on the writer's headcanon for the OC nations; usually if it's a good and fitting characterisation, I wouldn't mind so much.
