Victory March
USA/UK, gakuen!AU. What Alfred F Jones writes in his Justice Journal about his feelings towards his best friend Arthur Kirkland.
Light-hearted and very 'casual'. I love Alfred's voice in this one, and him coming to terms with his probable crush towards his best friend is too cute; he's so oblivious.
United Again
USA/UK, post-gakuen!AU. Ten years after the graduation, Arthur Kirkland is invited to a reunion party organised by Gage Jason High School. There's just one problem: his ex-best-friend/secret-crush, Alfred F Jones, would be there, too.
Yes, I love gakuen!AU. I love the flashbacks to the balls/parties they had before the reunion (like Halloween and prom). The side pairings are a nice touch, and the ending is very cute! Yes, US/UK is everyone's OTP haha.
What Was I To You?
USA/UK. America wonders if he was just a mere colony to England, a land to exploit and a tool for war, just like his other colonies. He confronts England about it.
OH GOD THIS IS SO HEART-BREAKING AND SWEET.
I like everything by this author C:
Because Thorns Have Roses
USA/UK. Every day, England received a rose and a note from a secret admirer. He wondered who the sender of the thousand roses was.
I'm such a sucker for this kind of stories. Oh look, this is not even a proper comment anymore.

Now for a rant.
As much as I love my younger brothers and dote on them, I can't help but get annoyed by them sometimes. A lot of times. They have close to zero sense of responsibility. The younger one I can understand because he's just 10; it's the older one that gives me and my parents headache. He's two years younger than me, a 'young adult', one might say. Now, I don't know if it's because of the fact that boys mature at an older age than girls do mentally or not, but he still acts like a spoiled child (in a more grown-up sense). Growing up, we have had the privilege of having maids take care of practically everything. Well, I went overseas to study, so I became more independent and learnt that no one's gonna clean up after my mess. Last year or so, all the maids at home quit. Lately it's been getting very hard to find one, and the washing machine's broken, so we have to do laundry by hand, amongst other chores like cooking, washing dishes, sweeping etc.
It's amazing how nonchalant my brother is about the situation. Or perhaps he knows but just doesn't care. My mother has to juggle taking care of the house and helping my dad in the shop; she wakes up early to do laundry. After she reaches home she goes straight to the kitchen and cooks, then wash dishes and then iron the clothes. Of course now that I'm home pretty much all the time, I do the chores (except cooking). I don't mind. But what puzzles me and grates at my mind is the fact that he does nothing but go to school and plays WoW after he gets home straight until 9 or 10 pm every day. He's been having mid-term holiday these past few days and all he does is sit his lazy ass in front of the computer all day. I don't ask him for help in doing the chores because he'll just tell me that I'm being bossy and keep ordering him around. At most I only ask him to hang wet clothes. Has he no sense of belonging and responsibility? I mean, fuck, he's part of the household and it's not only the women's job to take care of the house! He leaves his dirty dishes on the table, pulls out and reads my stack of manga and Donald Duck magazines and never, NEVER, puts them back, leaves his wet towel and dirty clothes scattered in the room, and he does chores only when asked. Which is very rare.
It may sound like I'm angry for such small, trivial matters. I hate this, the patriarchal society, and religions and the Chinese culture that have molded the mindset of my family. My father grew up believing that the husband is superior and should not be doing any chores; that's for the wife to do. My brothers seem to think that males should not, too. Of course, this kind of thinking has been going on for a long time, so much so that it has become 'normal' that women are able to do these tasks while men are not. Which is a convenient excuse for the males to not do them. Being a bloke does not entitle you to leave washing the laundry or dishes to us women.

I found this when I was tidying up my cupboard of awesomeness (i.e. otaku stuff):

I bought this during the Japan sabbatical in 2007 O_O I didn't even remember having it. I also bought Moyashimon vol. 1, To aru Majutsu no Index vol. 1, and a compilation shoujo/josei manga (it's got Ichtys in it!).
On another note, I'm itching to draw :D
